As a mom of a 2 year old and soon-to-be newborn, I can’t get enough of parenting magazines. Not only are they inspiring, but they offer great tips and stories that make you realize that you’re not alone – even on the days where parenting is the last thing you want to do. Recently I came across an article that explained how more moms are becoming Eco-friendly.
From using cloth diapers to buying organic baby products, moms all over the world are familiarizing themselves with Eco-friendly products. Why the rise amongst this group? That’s because the awareness of chemicals and irritants in products has led to parents to reevaluate the world that their children live in. Some of the most popular products have been organic cribs, mattresses and crib sheets, cloth diapers, organic baby foods and organic toys.
I love the idea that more moms are coming forward and making a difference in the environment, wanting a better world for their children. While I can’t afford all things organic, I try to make small changes that ultimately have big benefits. This spring, make plans to plant a garden or tree, take a nature hike or donate time supporting an environmental cause. Your kids will love it and you’ll be sending a message that will have a lasting impact.
